About Us
Welcome to the National Cycle Museum – a unique bicycle museum and registered charity based in Llandrindod Wells, Powys, Wales. We’re dedicated to preserving over 200 years of cycling history and sharing it with visitors from around the world.
Our Mission
Our mission is to conserve, protect, and celebrate the rich heritage of cycling. We care for a remarkable collection of over 260 bicycles, showcasing the evolution of design and technology from the early 19th century to the present day.
As a charity, we aim to inspire people of all ages with the story of cycling – its role in transport, sport, leisure, and society.
Preserving Cycling Heritage
Housed in the historic Automobile Palace in Llandrindod Wells, the National Cycle Museum offers an engaging and educational experience. Our displays include:
-
Rare 1818 Hobby Horse replicas
-
Victorian penny-farthings
-
Early safety bicycles
-
Racing and touring machines
-
Modern carbon-fibre designs
Each cycle tells a story about innovation, craftsmanship, and the social changes shaped by cycling.
